I will be tucked up in my blanket tonight on the sofa waiting to see if any trick or treaters come around as Mr H and I celebrated Hallowe’en at the weekend :

And yes, we did it Gangnam Style!

Welsh Catchup

So as I mentioned previously, we went to Wales a few weekends ago for Mr H’s birthday.

Predictably, the weather was all over the place but we did have a good time (this included playing a 1978 edition of Game of Life)

On Saturday, Rainbow Girl and I were taken on a personal tour of the local area :

The Honey Ice Cream Factory!!!!!

Dolgoch Falls

This is the point where no more pics were taken on my camera until the following day ( I was too busy cooking and cake making!)

I did finally get to make Mr H a birthday cake (only taken him 7 years to let me loose!) which was a beautiful Chocolate Whiskey cake decorated with an Oreo crust and a mini campfire!

And here it is lit up:

FFGF – That’s Physics!

The joys of working in a University are the random conversations you hear.

Today’s conversation reminded me of this video, made by our students a few years ago :

I hope you learn something, there won’t be a test.

Happy Friday!!!

Sorry for the lack of posts, we got back from Wales last week and I spent the rest of my time fighting off Fresher’s Flu, hence the lack of FFGF post.

I should have some pics soon from that weekend, including Mr H’s epic campfire birthday cake.

On the plus side, today is a pretty good day – I have new high heels!

FFGF – The Green Hand of the Law

As you are reading this, I will most likely be on my way to Wales for Mr H’s birthday weekend, pics I promise next week.
Now onto the Friday Feel Good Factor, a news story which caught my eye this week :

“Bedford Couple Unwittingly Grow Cannabis” – BBC News

It appears an elderly couple bought a shrub from a car boot sale, which then turned out to be cannabis.

The Bedford police then tweeted :

“Seized today. Elderly couple bought shrub at car boot sale, tended carefully – biggest cannabis plant we had seen!!”

For more information on the story, please click the pic above to be taken to the BBC website.

Have a great weekend everyone!

I Surrender!

Okay, okay autumn I give in!

The heating has now gone on, the jumpers have come out of storage and I have been debuting my new winter coat and handbag.

But, now, I need to get the gloves, hat and pashmina out, ready for tomorrow morning.

Oh the pretty leaves, think I’ll wander down New Walk tomorrow

FFGF – 50 Shades of Blah

First of all, a disclaimer :
I have not read 50 Shades of Grey, and don’t have any intention of doing so.

However, I would be living in a cave not to know about this phenomenon.

Women at work have been reading it and discussing who is going to play the main characters in the film.

I was talking with some postgrads this week about 50 shades and whilst trying to find a review I’d read about it, I stumbled across this :

50 Shades Narrated

And for those of you who don’t know Gilbert Gottfried, remember Disney’s Aladdin?

Now, re-listen to that and imagine Iago the parrot narrating it.

Happy Friday everyone!

The man I would leave Mr H for

Mr “Exceedingly Good” Kipling

Although we don’t really celebrate Halloween in our house – I couldn’t resist buying these Franken-fancies.

Needless to say, there aren’t any left …
